Bread-faced Girl - Chicago, IL

Bread-faced Girl - Chicago, IL

This year I spent my 44th birthday in the Chicago-land area. That's where my wife, Sally, is from. As is my tradition, I get up early, grab my birthday tunes--this year it was the Bell Rays--and drive around looking for things to photograph. I first made a stop at White Castle because I did not know if I would be able to get there again that day.

I came across the bread-faced girl on some random (to me) side street. It was like a gift, something unexpected.

I stopped by Second Hand Tunes in Evanston, IL, which was absolutely the inspiration for the movie High Fidelity (John Cusack grew up there I am told) and I purchased a bunch of music including Pink Floyd's The Wall. If you have not listed to it in awhile, go back and do so. It is truly amazing even after 30 years.

About Me

My photo
Minneapolis, MN, United States
Photographer/Artist based in Mpls, MN. I have a studio in the NE Arts District--Studio #274 at the Northrup King Bldg, 1500 Jackson St NE. I photograph elements of nature to explore color, shape, and composition. My goal is to capture images of the nature around me in a way that explodes (or seaps) with beauty. If that nature is in a vacant city lot, all the better. (All images Copyrighted. Use permitted with permission).
