Photographer/Artist based in Mpls, MN. I have a studio in the NE Arts District--Studio #274 at the Northrup King Bldg, 1500 Jackson St NE.
I photograph elements of nature to explore color, shape, and composition. My goal is to capture images of the nature around me in a way that explodes (or seaps) with beauty. If that nature is in a vacant city lot, all the better. (All images Copyrighted. Use permitted with permission).
When I have talked with the "experts" about projects of mine, they have all been very concerned with tight parameters within a project--everything should be connected in terms of style, content, or even time of day shot. This would be a way to intensify the meaning of "the work."
To mix color and black and white in the same project, it would need to be for a purpose. With some of my photos that were drastically backlit, I get some purple fringe around the dark branches, totally wrecking the pics (partially, at least). In b/w? less of an issue, but I have not named for myself or others the conceptual reasons for doing this. I need to think on it.
