Russian Olives (Oct 1)

Russian Olive Diptych

Hell, Yeah!  I've had a hard time photographing Russian Olive Trees this year. Their branches are so dense that it is hard to find the good composition.  I'm thinking now that with these trees it is more about color and shape.

I mean, who doesn't like silver and blue together? And I'm sure I'm not the only one who imagines that these are really minnow trees....

The out-of-focus bits look under water to me; these could totally be minnow trees.

I'm not familiar with either variety of tree, so I can't comment other than to say these photos are beautiful, as usual.

Actually, these photos are of the same tree, but from different angles. Aren't trees awesome?! -Mike

About Me

My photo
Minneapolis, MN, United States
Photographer/Artist based in Mpls, MN. I have a studio in the NE Arts District--Studio #274 at the Northrup King Bldg, 1500 Jackson St NE. I photograph elements of nature to explore color, shape, and composition. My goal is to capture images of the nature around me in a way that explodes (or seaps) with beauty. If that nature is in a vacant city lot, all the better. (All images Copyrighted. Use permitted with permission).
