Such a beautiful tree. I keep coming back to images from my morning in Locke Park (Fridley) when I am looking for my favorites.
I have no idea what kind of tree this is, which is a bit pathetic, but I am a photographer not an Arborialist!
I'm cutting this post short; I feel the need to go back to Locke Park--Right Now!
If you have a quick look at my blog roll Mike, you can scroll down past all the fashion to Gingerpixel. An Irish Photographer who I am rather fond of. You both have a gift for capturing natural light.
I'm thinking you are looking forward to the fall?
I just did a bit of research and this tree is a Buckthorn, an invasive species that everyone would like to see wiped out.
Google Jim Proctor to see what he is doing with the roots of the Buckthorn tree and other materials--quite interesting.
And while I am happy to join the erradicate the buckthorn bandwagon, those round leaves and significant space between the branches make them interesting to photograp.
Wow, I don't think I've seen this one on-screen yet. I LOVE IT!
