Pondle

Pondle:  A puddle that is large enought to be a pond, usually caused by bad drainage.

Overnight a pondle on the Victory Parkway froze, leaving me these images to find.  I am very excited that I found them.  The top image is about 8 inches of water covered by a millimeter of ice.  The bottom image is just ice crust; the water below has evaporated and left this pattern with grass poking through.

Just to be perfectly clear: I, Mike's wife, coined the term "pondle." RIGHT, MIKE??

Yes, I remember the day well. We were on our way to a picnic on the Isle of Graw when you saw it.-Mike

About Me

My photo
Minneapolis, MN, United States
Photographer/Artist based in Mpls, MN. I have a studio in the NE Arts District--Studio #274 at the Northrup King Bldg, 1500 Jackson St NE. I photograph elements of nature to explore color, shape, and composition. My goal is to capture images of the nature around me in a way that explodes (or seaps) with beauty. If that nature is in a vacant city lot, all the better. (All images Copyrighted. Use permitted with permission).
