Islands of Peace - Tiny Stream

June 2011 Set 1
#222sq1

I love revisiting the Islands of Peace in Fridley, MN. It is a handicap-accessible park with a little walk-over bridge that for half the year has no water under it. This year there is plenty of water, making little islands throughout the park. I saw a carp swimming by that was over two feet long. I saw two families of ducks, making a go of it in this crazy world. This fairly abstract shot is the tiny stream with shoots of something growing out of it, reflecting the trees overhead--my favorite combination for nature scenes.

About Me

My photo
Minneapolis, MN, United States
Photographer/Artist based in Mpls, MN. I have a studio in the NE Arts District--Studio #274 at the Northrup King Bldg, 1500 Jackson St NE. I photograph elements of nature to explore color, shape, and composition. My goal is to capture images of the nature around me in a way that explodes (or seaps) with beauty. If that nature is in a vacant city lot, all the better. (All images Copyrighted. Use permitted with permission).
