Art Exhibit at Altered Esthetics and Black Dog Cafe

Altered Esthetics, a fabulous gallery in NE Mpls, has created an artistic competition between Minneapolis and St Paul.  Anyone who has lived here for more than a summer knows that if you live in Mpls, you don't go to St Paul, and if you live in St Paul, there is no reason to go to Mpls.  I've lived in both cities and have retained my travel Visa for both cities.

What Altered Esthetics is doing, is teaming with the Black Dog Cafe in Lowertown St Paul to exhibit works about both cities.  Black Dog will exhibit works about Mpls, and Mpls with show works about St Paul.  I have photograph in each exhibit, which means I'll be at both of the receptions, hanging out, saying "hi."

The exhibit runs from 4/3 - 4/27 in both locations simultaneously.  The opening reception is on 4/4 (Friday) at AE, and the Black Dog reception will be on 4/19 (Saturday), but the exhibit will run through the end of the St Paul Art Crawl.

If you have never been to the St. Paul Art Crawl, you should go.  Many/Most of the studios are the artists' living spaces, and who doesn't like to snoop around in people's homes!  Also it is a bit smaller in scale than the NE Mpls studio crawl, Art-A-Whirl.  I am in the Northrup King Bldg, which is the largest of the buildings involved in the fun.  Art-A-Whirl is 5/16 - 5/18.  Mark your calendars.  I have lots of new work to show and lower print prices on the images I have shown in previous years.  Gatta make room for the new.

So, let's stay in touch.  Check out my website at www.mcgrawphoto.com, and if you are interested we can be cyber friends on my myspace page.  To be actual friends, you'll need to stop by one of these events and see me.

About Me

My photo
Minneapolis, MN, United States
Photographer/Artist based in Mpls, MN. I have a studio in the NE Arts District--Studio #274 at the Northrup King Bldg, 1500 Jackson St NE. I photograph elements of nature to explore color, shape, and composition. My goal is to capture images of the nature around me in a way that explodes (or seaps) with beauty. If that nature is in a vacant city lot, all the better. (All images Copyrighted. Use permitted with permission).
